From young children to older adults, we have worked with students of all ages and athletic abilities.  Our most common concern is water safety and confidence.  All students must know how to swim prior to their surf lesson.

How many private lessons does it take to learn to surf?

All students are unique and learn to surf at different paces. Some only require one lesson but typically we see it takes two to three lessons to feel comfortable enough to start surfing on your own.

Are there any health requirements?

If there's any health conditions that would affect the safety of your lesson we ask that you kindly inform us before your session begins. If you wear contacts, wear them! No goggles required - just keep eyes shut when you wipe out.

What if it is raining?

Surf Lessons are held rain or shine...you're already wet!  Rainstorms typically are accompanied by surf, and passing rain storms often provide cleaner wave conditions and better surf.

Morning Youth Surf Camp runs weekdays throughout the summer from June 27th, 2022 to August 26, 2022.

All SUP and surf lessons are standard 1 hour from scheduled time. Youth Surf Camp is 2 hours, with a short break for snacks for campers.

What if the weather and wave conditions are not suitable?

Poor wave and weather (thunder & lightning) conditions may arise where a lesson cannot be adequately given.  In this event, rescheduling the lesson is our first option for a time convenient to both parties. We rarely cancel lessons and camp due to weather or wave conditions.
